Brandon Farris

Brandon Farris' policy career began in 2003 with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture. He handled Energy Policy for the committee, which included work on renewable fuels legislation and waste-to-energy. In early 2007, Mr. Farris moved to the National Governors’ Association as a legislative associate for the Natural Resources Committee, which develops policy and plans, implements lobbying activities, and serves as the principal liaison with Governors and policy makers in areas of water and air quality, energy, conservation and natural resources, and agriculture.
He served as the interim director of the Committee until late 2007, when he joined the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) as the Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs. At MEA, he worked on EmPower Maryland, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and other strategic energy initiatives. Mr. Farris received a BA in History from the Virginia Military Institute, a MA in Government from the Johns Hopkins University and is currently working towards his JD from the George Washington University School of Law. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
